On Wednesday, February 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. the Westmount Library 2’Oclock Series will screen the film Legends of Magdalen in the Westmount Room.
Legends of Magdalen is a 45-minute film created by Montrealer Gregory B. Gallagher, independent creative consultant/writer/filmmaker/musician and transmedia producer. The film explores the shipwrecks and treasures of the Magdalen Islands, one of North America’s greatest underwater cemeteries. Over 300 sunken ships have been documented by Leonard Clark, a local fisherman, farmer and self-taught archeologist.
“Legends of Magdalen” is a winner of the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network’s StoryNet Documentary Film Challenge, as well as the Rogers Documentary Film Fund Grant.
Tickets will be available to Library members 4 weeks prior to the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
Remaining tickets will be available to the general public 1 week prior to the event.
