2 O’Clock Series – A.Y. Jackson: The Life of a Landscape Painter with Author/Artist Wayne Larsen

Noted author/artist Wayne Larsen’s book A.Y. Jackson: The Life of a Landscape Painter will be the feature of the Westmount Public Library’s monthly 2 O’ Clock Series on Wednesday, January 31 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Westmount Room.

Wayne will tell the story of Group of Seven artist A.Y. Jackson, originally from Montreal.

”A.Y. Jackson takes readers on a journey through Jackson’s struggles and triumphs, from his childhood in Victorian-era Montreal through his final years as a living legend of Canadian art who thought nothing of camping in a tent on Baffin Island at age 82.”

Wayne Larsen is a Montreal artist, editor, and writer whose work has appeared in a variety of publications. Currently, he teaches graduate-level journalism at Concordia University and is the author of A.Y. Jackson: The Life of a Landscape Painter and James Wilson Morrice: Painter of Light and Shadow.

 

Tickets will be available to Library members 4 weeks prior to the event on a first-come, first-served basis.

Remaining tickets will be available to the general public 1 week prior to the event.
