Welcome to Around Westmount Issue 20

Merry Christmas and Welcome to Around Westmount Issue 20

Hello and welcome to Around Westmount Issue 20. While most of us are overwhelmed with Christmas and other holiday preparations, this issue focuses more on events and happenings after December 25 and leads you into programs happening in early January until Around Westmount’s anniversary issue January 16.

This is the first Christmas issue Bernie and I have published and there were surprises. Issue 19 was so bursting with events, people, and holiday gatherings and so much more we literally had to reformat the pages to contain it all. Too much fun.

If you do read this before Christmas, and  I hope you do, if you still do not have plans for Christmas day and would like to be part of a family Christmas traditional turkey dinner enjoyed with new friends and family, I invite you to check out Marilynn’s Extended Family Christmas Dinner at http://aroundwestmount.com/2017/11/29/marilynns-extended-family-christmas-dinner/ , send me a quick email at marilynn@ aroundwestmount.com or just surprise us and drop in. We would like to see you and welcome you to the dinner.

On a more serious note, now and continuing throughout the winter months is an urgent need for outer winter clothing for asylum seekers who are temporarily housed in the YMCA Residence. If you have a few minutes now or over the holidays, please go through your closets and see what you can offer to these newcomers to Canada who must be feel so over taken by what looks like it could be a particularly bitterly cold winter. Smile.

Here are the articles for this issue listed in order of when they are happening.

My Christmas wish for all of you is that you enjoy a happy, healthy holiday season and that your 2018 overflows with too much love, too much health, too many friends, too much knowing you are loved, too much good food, and too much living. Friends, food and fun. And that you are able to share all that  with your community and beyond.

Warmest regards,

as always.
