Local Community Holiday Events

This holiday season in addition to all the wonderful music, theatre and arts events in and Around Westmount, the City of Westmount has organized some traditional holiday events of its own to celebrate  and to give the community an opportunity to be just that.. the community of Westmount.

 

 

Sale of Christmas Trees and wreaths by 2nd Westmount Scouts this Friday and Saturday

2ND Westmount  Scouts are once again selling Christmas trees and wreaths this weekend at Mountainside United Church, 4000 The Boulevard. The delicious fragrance of balsam fir will permeate the church parking lot  Friday, December 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday December 2 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The cost is $45 for a tree (all sizes) and  and $25 for 12″ wreaths. Delivery is offered for $10. Tax deductible donations for the Scouts are always welcome.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Join City Council members December 6 at 6:30 p.m. for the annual launch  of the holiday season in Westmount… the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the lawn bowling club house, 401 Kensington Avenue. Enjoy activities, hot chocolate and treats in the clubhouse followed by the tree lighting outside of City Hall.

An Afternoon of Holiday Skating

The community is invited to come to the Westmount Recreation Centre, 4675 Saint Catherine Street West, for an afternoon of holiday skating on Sunday, December 10, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on its indoor weather controlled rink.

Enjoy music, hot chocolate, cookies, crafts, prizes and an ugly sweater contest! The event is part of Westmount’s continuing Canada 150 celebrations.  A free event for the whole family!

Neighbourhood Caroling

Join your neighbours for an evening of caroling at the Westmount Lawn Bowling Club House, 401 Kensington Avenue, on Sunday, December 10 at 6 p.m. Enjoy friends, food and fun…warm fellowship and holiday singing, hot beverages and soft drinks. Please bring a sweet or savoury treat to share.

Donations will be received for Chez Doris, The Open Door, and the Old Brewery Mission.

Community Chanukah Festival of Lights Celebration

The City of Westmount, in collaboration with Congregation Shaar Hashomayim and Temple Emmanu-El-Beth Sholom, invite the community to participate in the festival of lights. HÉMA-QUÉBEC Blood Drive

This year give the gift of life at the Westmount annual holiday HÉMA-QUÉBEC Blood Drive at Victoria Hall, Wednesday, December 6 from 2:30  to 7:30 p.m. I am very happy and thankful someone gave that lifesaving gift to me 30 years ago. Info 514.989.5226
