The public is invited to join staff and participants of the St. Margaret’s Day Centre, 50 Hillside Avenue, for an afternoon concert, Saturday, April 29 at 2 pm at Westmount Park Church, 4695 de Maisonneuve Boulevard.
The program of performers includes Samantha Borgal, MTA. Craig Morrison, Edwin Orion Brownell and Larry Hecht-Hayes who will present popular music of the 20’s through the 70’s including favourites Johnny’ B Goode, Sweet Georgia Brown, Sentimental Journey, Hallelujah, Imagine, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, La Vie en Rose, and more.
The words to the oldies but goodies will be projected behind the performers on stage for those who like to sing along.
Refreshments and snacks courtesy of Simply Wonderful will be served. And don’t forget to purchase your raffle tickets. All proceeds will directly benefit the arts and music programs.
St Margaret’s Day Centre welcomes seniors from the community at large who live with a variety of cognitive, physical, and/or social challenges. The centre aims to provide cognitive stimulation through recreational activities. All centre coordinators deeply support music and art therapy programs, which aim to encourage autonomy, creativity, and help with dealing with psychosocial needs. By attending the concert, participants will not only enjoy a great afternoon of fun and music but will express support for the work of the centre.
This venue is wheelchair accessible. Parking is available behind the church or on thestreet.
