Ross Eveleigh Johnson: From Westmount to Eternity

Westmount High School School grad and McGill University Commerce student Ross Eveleigh Johnson‘s life and service as a flying officer pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force ended when he was killed during World War II. The story of his short life and accomplishments  was the inspiration for  author and novelist Nicolas Paquin’s latest young adult novel Théậtre de guerre. On Thursday, March 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. Nicolas will present From Westmount to Eternity at the March meeting of the Westmount Historical Association  in the Westmount room at the Westmount Public Library, 4574 Sherbrooke Street West. Nicolas will discuss how he found inspiration in John’s short life, 1922-1944, using mainly correspondence and school records to further his knowledge. Nicolas was so moved by the young officer’s death, Nicolas  dedicated to the memory of Ross Eveleigh Johnson.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free for members and $5 for guests. Light refreshments are available starting at 6:30.
