Grade five and six students at École Roslyn School, 4699 Avenue Westmount , recognized the anti-bullying Pinks Shirt Day by wearing pink shirts to school Montreal anti bullying guru and ambassador of self care Amen Iseghohi spoke to the students about the importance of taking care of each other and feeling good about yourself.
This is the first year the school and students have taken part in Pink Shirt Day, a national anti bullying phenomenon that is working its way across the country and around the world. Many of the students wore pink shirts in solidarity to the movement.
The original event was organized by teens David Shepherd and Travis Price of Berwick, ova Scotia, who, in 2007 bought and distributed 50 pink tank top shirts after male ninth grade student Jadrien Cota was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school.
